Writers Read - Formerly Read 650
United States
Приєднався 18 лип 2014
Writers Read, formerly Read650, a celebration of writers, writing, and the spoken word. Live, staged events throughout the year are organized around a single broad topic that invite a range of expression. Readings are professionally recorded for web-streaming, and audio recordings are edited for broadcasts and podcasts.
Writers Read was conceived in 2008 when founders Edward McCann and Richard Kollath began developing an idea for a website featuring video clips of writers reading their work aloud. With a searchable database offering access to biographies, videos, backlists - and direct links to each writer’s own website - Ed and Richard imagined Writers Read as a showcase for both established and emerging writers.

I love this!
I read this in the SCN publication, but it's even more delightful to hear you read it, Linda. I'm sure the gentleman who made your coffee in Italy enjoyed your exchange as much as I did. Thanks for sharing it.
Very entertaing!
Love it. I feel you were designed for coat tails, cool sunglasses and a heartwarming smile. Shalom. Wishing you, Becky and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. Love from this sedentary bedouin. DeWitt invited me for the Feast and cooked up a storm after winning a 20 on a scratch off. Mashed potatoes, french green beans, skinless boneless chicken thighs sauteed in olive oil with onions and garlic, gravy. I also enjoyed reading "Nepenthes" yesterday evening, it thrilled me. Proud to be your friend. Vic
This is so cool. My Lithuanian Jewish family migrated to New York City, but I'm doing my genealogy and I just learned that one branch of my family went from Lithuania, to Cape town South Africa, and *then* to New York City. Andrea Truppin is from that family branch. Googling the family for info for my family tree, I found this video of her talking about her family's migration. I haven't managed to contact her yet, but I already know two things we have in common: We're both writers fascinated by language, and we have the same hair. How fun is that?
Sarah...why didn't I see this eons ago? I remember reading your story so long ago and contacting you and finally meeting you in Ossining, NY! What a special day that was! Seeing/hearing you read this brought back so many memories of summers at Beenadeewin. Personally, I would have loved to have had the opportunity to get to know you that summer but, other than inviting "the Lees" to dance with us, very rarely, our only contact was over the dining room/kitchen counters. I'd like to think that I was friendly and appreciative. Of course, hearing this now doesn't absolve the camp's "higher-ups" of their actions. I was virtually "raised" by Lucile, a "colored woman" whom I absolutely adored from age two until her death when I was forty-something. She loved me during my selfish teenage years and supported me during my mother's illness and death...and beyond. She was one of my greatest teachers. I still miss her so much. Thank you for sharing your stories with the world. You are certainly one very special woman and I'm glad that we've reconnected.
Oh, beautiful Ann! how wonderful and yes, I too laughed and cried.
Beautiful series! Ann Casapini, you made me laugh & weep. Recordar es vivir. Brava! XOXO
I met Julie on an airplane... Read her book, and now a big fan!!! I'm curious if she married the man from Costa Rico? What a cool lady!
This video fuckin sucks

This was a wonderful event. I am glad to have been in the audience.
I love Read 650! Ann Casapini's story is brilliantly crafted, read and I'm still reeling and devastated by the expectation and the delivery. Brava!
Brilliant series! Ann Casapini's story is a time machine and broke my heart. Brava!
I love your writing, Clancy. I love your strength, honesty, and humbleness.
